Senior Process Engingeer
Job Responsibilities
- Design of EPS' multi–pollutant control system using in–house software detailing combustion calculations, chemical reactions, condensate collection system, spray water requirement, reagent consumption, condensing media design, COMPLY unit material selection, reagent consumption calculations, etc.
- Ensure compliance with contract technical specifications.
- Develop control philosophy for proper system operation and integration with balance of plant equipment/system/components. Requires interaction/coordination with controls partner.
- Assist in technical evaluation of supplier bids.
- Assist sales with proposal work.
- Assist in continuous development of in–house design software.
- Assist in ductwork selection, pressure drop calculations, ID fan selection, cooling towers, pumps, instruments, CEMS analyzers, etc.
- Coordinate with engineers/designers/suppliers to develop P&IDs, PFDs, GADs, construction drawings, etc.
- Coordinate various vendors, suppliers, contractors, etc. to ensure compliance with overall system design and requirements.
- Develop wastewater treatment strategy including limestone injection requirement calculations for acid neutralization, heavy metal removal including mercury, gypsum production calculations, soluble salt removal processes, zero liquid discharge design, etc.
- Assist in development of engineering standards for primary processes – COMPLY design, fogging skid and spray distribution arrangement, wastewater treatment, duct design, ozone generators, oxygen plant, ID fan, cooling towers, etc.
- Travel to meet clients for presentations, job site to evaluate plant specific requirements, client project status meetings, and resolve technical issues during and after construction including start-up and commissioning, warranty claims, etc.
Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of B.S. degree in chemical/mechanical engineering with at least 5 years of experience in power plant/chemical process or related industry.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Projects, visual basic (preferred but not necessary), etc.
- Ability to work independently, resolve technical issues with positive "can do" attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform pressure drop calculations, piping layout arrangement, duct design, etc.
- Good verbal and writing skills.
- Familiarity with traditional emission reduction technologies like FGD systems, SCRs, PAC injection, etc. is a plus.
- Authorized to work legally in the United States.
